Association - US Airways Interim Agreement
On July 30, 2013, the Airline Customer Service Employee Association, IBT-CWAand US Airways, Inc. reached a tentative Interim Agreement. If CWA and IBT members ratify the Interim Agreement, they will receive two wage increases that achieve parity with passenger service employees at American Airlines. Passenger service employees at the stations (CSAs, CARs, CTO, Club Reps) will enjoy at total increase of 5.49% and employees in reservations will enjoy a total increase of 3.93%. The first wage increase of two percent (2%) is effective the first Monday of the first pay period following ratification, and the remainder of the wage increase will be effective the first Monday of the first pay period after the closing date of the US Airways American Airlines merger.
Additionally, the ratified Interim Agreement will include a no-furlough guarantee that protects every employee whose name appears on the seniority roster on the day the merger closes, with added protections against alterations in work schedules and work assignments. In light of such protections and in order to provide a seamless passenger service integration, also on the date the merger closes, US Airways passenger service employees will be allowed to perform American Airlines passenger service work and American Airlines passenger service employees and vendors will be permitted to perform US Airways passenger service work. Lastly, if the majority of CWA and IBT members ratify the Interim Agreement, all employees will also receive a $500 ratification bonus, in a separate check, no later than 30 days after ratification.
CWA and the IBT Airline Division recommend this Interim Agreement. Greater details on the Interim Agreement and the ratification process will be provided soon.
